This year Palmerston turns 30 and instead of having a belated quarter life crisis, it shines with a two-day festival proving it’s nobody’s satellite.
Kicking off with a beefed-up version of its regular Friday market, with food, arts, crafts the party continues with performances by multicultural groups and music from local favourites like Skarlett, Rhondala and Gabby Wright. Saturday morning begins with family fun at the Palmerston Water Park with the percussive antics of the Drumming Monkeys, and then moves to Goyder Park with music from Reggae Dave and a very special appearance by Rockhampton folk-rock duo, Busby Marou (picutred).
The Festival follows up with a 30th birthday buffet dinner featuring guest speaker, Lewis Potterton, Palmo’s first resident and buyer of the first block of land in Driver.
