Pip Magic spurned the idea of becoming a ‘serious magician’ and he hasn’t looked back.
A former finalist in Australia’s Got Talent, Pip is bringing his show Hypnolarious to the Darwin Entertainment Centre in August. The show’s name sums up the combination of magic and hilarity that Pip aims to deliver to his audiences. Yet he says the name was a provisional one initially.
“It was just an idea that came into my head for a show name and I thought I will come up with something better,” he says. “Four years later and I just can’t see it called anything else.”
Pip says his show is inspired by his time living in Las Vegas and experiencing the world class magic and illusion shows.
“I don’t think you will ever find a place like it. I would not be anywhere near this point in my career if it hadn’t been for Vegas.”
Pip says that no two of his shows are ever the same, mostly due to the level of interaction with his audience members.
“I don’t use stooges so anyone in the crowd who wants to get up and be a part of the show can be,” he says. “The people who come up become stars for the night and have a lot of fun. The audiences always love it.”
“I love connecting with the crowd and giving them a show they will love.”
