PROFILE – Nic Wilson

Off The Leash chats with enigmatic British India guitarist, Nic Wilson.

What was the first concert you ever went to?
When I was about 15 Declan (guitarist) and I went to see Paul Kelly at the St Kilda festival. That day I came down with the flu and when I got home I was really out of it... My dad grilled me all night about the proceedings of the day because he thought I had gotten stoned.

What’s your favourite album of all time?
I always struggle with this question. If it was a life or death decision I think I would go with Let It Be by The Beatles. The Beatles are my favourite band and this is their best album in my humble opinion - thus it must be my favourite album.

Finish this sentence. My friends would describe me as...
Not around enough.

Whose posters did you have stuck to the wall when you were a teenager?
When I was five I was obsessed with Christian Slater, due to movies like Kuffs and Robin Hood. I offered to buy a poster clipped from a magazine off my sisters for $5. She wouldn't sell it to me pretty much because she thought I might be gay.

How would you describe your sound in three words?
Loud Quiet Loud.
