This is Just a Tribute

They say imitation is the biggest compliment, and nothing pays tribute to a band more than, well, a tribute show. And it appears the good people of Darwin just can’t get enough of them! The Darwin Entertainment Centre proudly presents some of the best tribute shows going around, with tunes of yesteryear to get you all nostalgic as you relive the hits you once boogied to on the D-floor.

If rock and roll is your jam, ‘You Got It’! Check out internationally renowned artist Dean Bourne with special guests The Robertson Brothers, as they rock out the iconic melodies of Roy Orbison & The Everly Brothers. Listen to Orbison’s classic hits such as ‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Only The Lonely’ and ‘You Got It’, or relive the upbeat sounds of The Everly Brothers, such as ‘Bye Bye Love’, ‘Wake Up Little Susie’ and ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’. You’ll be swinging those hips to these classics performed by these multi-award winning entertainers from start to end.

If you feel like reliving the psychedelic vibes of the sixties, then head to California Dreaming – The Music of the Mamas and the Papas. 40 years since the tragic death of Mama Cass comes this fully scripted and choreographed production, celebrating all things Mamas and Papas – their lives, their loves, and their music. Listen to classics such as ‘Monday, Monday’, ‘Dream a Little Dream’ and the legendary ‘California Dreamin’’. Very, very groovy baby.

And to wrap up this month’s smorgasbord of tribute shows, is a concert paying homage to one of the biggest bands of all time; yes – Beatlemania is hitting D-town! If you missed them in 1964 now’s your chance to see what it could have been like when the Beatles toured Down Under. The Fabulous Beatle Boys are bringing to Darwin their highly acclaimed show – The Beatles 50 Years On – chockers full of the hits we know and love. ‘You Can’t Buy Me Love’ but you sure as heck could buy me a ticket to this!

Head along, have a boogie, and enjoy some classic tunes performed by these talented entertainers.
