Turquoise was once crowned Miss Juneteenth, a title commemorating the day slavery was abolished, but life didn’t turn out as beautifully as the title promised. Now Turquoise is cultivating her daughter, Kai, to become Miss Juneteenth.
To celebrate NT Youth Week, the screening of Miss Juneteenth on 9th April is free for 12–25 year olds, and there’s free popcorn for the first 100 through the gates thanks to LAUNCH Darwin.
