NATSIAA finalists Wally Wilfred and Gwenneth Blitner are from the community of Ngukurr which sits beside the Roper river in South East Arnhem Land. Waral, the title of their exhibition, is a Ngalakgan and Ngandi word that can be interpreted as spirit, shadow, image or soul. It is often used in Roper Kriol when talking about the spirits of people who have passed away. This exhibition showcases the stories associated with Waral.
