Ḻiyagawumirr miny'tji

Liyagawumirr miny'tji (designs of the Liyagawumirr clan) primarily features the work of two sisters, Margaret Rarru and Helen Ganalmirriwuy. Both senior artists from Milingimibi, they are renowned for their paintings and weavings. The striped geometric designs featured in the bark paintings are informed by the sisters' Liyagawumirr clan ceremonial body paint designs. Across Arnhem Land, the use of black dye in their weaving is also unique to the sisters.
