Witness DSO’s Concertmaster Tara Murphy starring in Barber’s thrilling violin concerto, a dramatic and contrasting work which culminates in a famously virtuosic and brilliant finale. Followed by Kodály’s spirited Dances of Galánta, a celebration of Hungarian folk melodies and closing with the cheerful and sweeping Second Symphony of Brahms, his favourite of his own four symphonies, this is an evening of stunning music not to be missed.
