Desert Satellites is a group exhibition of artworks from Tennant Creek artists around the Barkly, who are working with Barkly Regional Arts. The artists – Susannah Nelson, Lindy Brodie, Ruth Dawson and Janet Thompson – have used recycled satellite dishes to create their work, which were a part of the self-build houses of Wutungurra, a community located 500 km north of Alice Springs.

Their obsolescence incites the issue of the housing in remote communities and the answer from the NT Minister of Housing, Gerry McCarthy, a former teacher in Wutungurra.

Curated by Rita Macarounas.
