1990’s Russia. Finnish anthropology student Laura has been spurned by her lover. She decides to travel alone by train to the arctic to study. On the way she forms an unlikely friendship with a gruff Russian miner. Along the journey, they navigate rough terrain in more ways than one. Juho Kuosmanen's second feature is a sparkling and inventive film about human connection that sculpts this unlikely pairing to face the truth about their own yearning for human connection.
