Focusing on Morocco’s 1981 Bread Riots, Asmae El Moudir recreates the events surrounding a government atrocity using doll-like figures. With the help of Asmae’s father to construct the scene, and Asmae’s mother supporting with textiles, the finely detailed miniatures, and amusing juxtapositions of scale, create a place where memories can roam and long-held secrets can be revealed.
