Liss Fenwick's photographic series of built landscapes 'Grim Purpose' is an attempt to contribute to the discourse of decolonisation in Australia, offered from the artists' personal perspective as a non-Indigenous woman raised in the rural far-north of the continent. It addresses the inevitable failure of vainglorious, colonial ventures to ‘settle’ and 'inhabit' dispossessed land.
Opening Friday 30 August, 5.30pm.
