Nick Yates is a saxophonist, clarinetist, composer and improviser with diverse performance experience across genres, and a passion for contemporary art music. Since moving to Darwin in 2018, he has formed jazz quartet The Changes, and contemporary art music group Whistling Kite New Music.
This performance surveys the diversity of contemporary writing for the saxophone, both as a solo instrument and integrated with electronics. It includes original compositions and improvised music.
