Weaving Wicker Baskets

In this one-day workshop Fiona Gavino will teach the technique of using wicker, also known as cane or pith cane, to learn how to weave a basket using the techniques of tabby and twining. To introduce the workshop Fiona will give a brief overview of her practice and basketry in Australia and where she sources her materials. Participants make a medium size flat bottom basket using 3mm wicker.
