Saltwater Craft Fair

IT’S FINALLY HERE – the first Saltwater Craft Fair for 2015, and boy is it looking pretty. Held on Mother’s Day in the tranquil surroundings of the Darwin Waterfront, the Saltwater Craft Fair is your opportunity to ice two cakes with one spoon. Take advantage of the chance to become mum’s favourite by treating her (and yourself) to a day of local crafts and crafts.

Executive Director of Tactile Arts, Natalie Sprite, says there's plenty on offer at this month's Fair. “We have so many artists involved, including Sandy Ford who makes the most beautiful pieces out of glass. The first year I worked at the craft fair, I spent all of my money at her stall and didn’t get to see the rest of the fair! We’ve also got Andrea McKey, who makes exquisite little bird-shaped embroidered cushions, and dynamic duo Peter Jettner and Troya Bywaters, who create stunning works of art from old farm machinery.”

The Saltwater Craft Fair combines the beauty of an outdoor art gallery with the laid back feel of a Darwin market. Everything for sale is locally handcrafted, and with a wide range of quality art and craft, there is something for everyone – including mum!
