Volunteer for Your Career

Want to vollie overseas but not sure how to go about it? Good news – the Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program might just be for you!

AVID is a government funded program providing fully-supported volunteer opportunities across South-East Asia and the Pacific. Each month, around 100 opportunities arise across a range of sectors including education, engineering, trades, media, health, sport, law, IT and much, much more.

Info sessions will be held in Darwin this month with a Q&A panel and an AVID staff member who will tell you what you want to hear – things like ‘yes, it’s fully-supported, ‘yes, your partner can go with you’ and ‘yes, we have a role you might like’.

Some of the amazing roles popping up include communications officer for a Fijian basketball team, a cattle farmer in Vanuatu, a website developer in Indonesia and a refrigeration mechanic in Bhutan – how’s that for variety? If it sounds like this could be the volunteer experience of a lifetime, why not head along to find out more – who knows where you could end up!
