Clean Living In The Tropics - October

Clean Living is being mindful of what you put in your body, mindful of keeping a healthy home and work environment, and mindful of your environmental footprint.

By Lina Paselli

It was an honour to welcome Australia’s clean-living expert, Luke Hines, to the Territory last month. For those 40 lucky attendees that made it to the cooking class, it was an intense hour of clever cooking, movement and lots of laughter!

“It’s time to get our sexy on” was the main message from the super fit trainer, nutritionist and bestselling author. When we get up in the morning, we need to look into the mirror (I know it’s hard!) and truly love ourselves.

Give yourself a big ‘mmm’ moment – that stands for meals, movement, and mindset. The triple Ms can then become your focus for the day and when these three Ms are aligned, lots of amazing changes start to happen. You feel awesome, there’s no brain fog and you can get your ‘sexy’ back on very quickly!

Hines truly made this all sound super easy and was the most inspirational speaker I have ever met. Everyone was super-pumped after the class with his latest bestselling cookbook in hand, ready to start cooking from scratch and getting smart about carbs.

The menu was a showcase of Hines’ best clean eating recipes yet – and oh so yummy. We started with an avocado mojito – mint leaves, coconut milk, ginger and lime juice.

A perfect way to kick-start the day and just perfect for our tropical climate. This was followed by a gorgeous and easy green omelette, a perfect zucchini pizza (I just love how Hines sneaks enormous amounts of veggies into every recipe), and to finish, satay salmon that we all thought was amazing.

Watch out Jimmy Shu! If we are the embodiment of what we eat and the love we put into cooking our food every day, it’s easy to see why Hines is an extraordinary ambassador for everything clean living – organic, movement and a happy and positive mindset.
