Meditation Retreat

If the wild ride of the Dry has got you feeling a bit lethargic, unwell and uninspired, October presents the perfect opportunity to get back to your roots and invest in some ‘you’ time.

Tibetan Buddhist Lama Choedak Rinpoche is in town this month to deliver a two-day retreat, giving participants the opportunity to reconnect and replenish. And he’s pretty qualified for the job, too…

Rinpoche has undertaken 12 years of monastic training, including a three-year solitary meditation retreat sponsored by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He founded the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra Inc. and has established several rural residential centres across Australia and New Zealand.

He’s also a celebrated author of seven books, and is sought after in the Tibetan Buddhist world as a speaker and translator. His retreats consistently attract large numbers, and this month, he returns to Darwin after many years.

Day one of the retreat is Practical Middle Way Buddhist Philosophy, where participants learn about the core values of Buddhism and how to apply them to day-to-day life. Gain insight into a fresh and practical philosophy with a contemplative view, conduct and wisdom that will help change everything for the better.

On day two, head along to the Health and Healing Goddess White Tara Meditation. White Tara is a goddess of longevity and rejuvenation, and maintaining the discipline to continue this meditation after learning from a qualified master can boost and heal one’s life.

So head along and get inspired!
