BANFF Film Festival
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is the most prestigious international film competition about mountain culture, sports and environment in the world. This month, Banff returns to the Deckchair Cinema, giving Top Enders insight into this world far removed from the flat terrain and warm temperatures of Darwin.
Deckchair Cinema General Manager Alice Body said the festival added to the Deckchair’s eclectic program.
“There really is something for everyone at the Deckchair and the Banff Film Festival definitely draws all the nature lovers and adrenaline junkies out there. Through the big screen, audience members can experience incredible mountain landscapes and marvel at the adventure sports that take advantage of those crazy cliff faces and death defying ski runs. Banff is always an amazingly popular event at Deckchair each year - and for good reason! The films are simply breathtaking, not only because of the beauty of the scenery but also the sheer glorious insanity of the adventure sports that go on in those parts of the world,” Body said.
“Tickets are a bit more expensive as they’re sold through the festival, but if you want tickets you’d better get them ASAP – the Banff Film Festival typically sells out.”
