Darwin Festival Early Release

Word – Darwin Festival has announced more shows for 2017, joining its early announcement that Darwin Symphony Orchestra will perform in the Festival this year.

The new shows announced include three big-ticket events at Darwin Entertainment Centre. If you were secretly – or not so secretly – hooked on the comings and goings of Downton Abbey, you won’t want to miss Opera Australia’s take on Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. A brilliant comic opera, this madcap farce follows the adventures of a wealthy Spanish household over one chaotic day.

There's jaw-dropping acrobatic tricks and flicks as Circa goes Troppo with an action-packed beach party for the whole family and Sydney Dance Company’s electric double bill Frame of Mind also takes the Entertainment Centre stage.
Expect razor-sharp satire from New York’s undisputed queen of the underground, as Penny Arcade blazes into town, and get teddy ready as a firm family favourite, the City of Darwin Teddy Bears’ Picnic moves to a special new home at Darwin Cenotaph on The Esplanade.

Early release tickets on sale Thursday 4 May.
