Oktoberfest
It’s time to shine up those steins and iron the lederhosen – Oktoberfest is back meine Freunde!
Oktoberfest is an annual folk festival celebrating German culture, music, dance, food and drink. It draws thousands of tourists to Germany each year and is such a hit with the crowds that copycat events are popping up all over the world. Und ja – that includes Darwin!
Head along to SKYCITY for three days of German merriment complete with bratwurst, weisswurst, Nürnberger, sauerkraut, apfelstrudel and other delish feeds you’ll have a ball pronouncing – and eating! Wash it all down with some icy cold German beer. There’s live music from The Black Forest Band, a traditional beer stein strong arm competition and prizes up for grabs for the best dressed Ger-man and Ger-lady.
