Festive Flavours

DITCH THE CHAMPAGNE GLASS and feel the fizz of Trampoline’s special Darwin Festival celebratory sorbet, Naughty Forty.

Trampoline owner John Hall says the adults-only champagne and lime sorbet was one of two created especially to help the Festival celebrate their big 4-0.

The other family friendly flavour, Birthday Cake, is a blue-tinted vanilla with swirls.

“We set about finding some interesting recipes – initially it was very broad. We came up with about eight different flavours and had the Festival staff come and do a tasting,” he says.

From there, the final two winning flavours were chosen by popular vote in the D-Fest office – talk about a hard day at work!

“As soon as I realised how good the Birthday Cake flavour was, I was convinced it was going to be a winner with the kids, and I thought it would take a bit of work to sell it to the Festival but they embraced it very quickly.”

This year will be the ninth year Trampoline have called Festival Park home during the month of August. Hall says it’s always the best place to be.

“The whole buzz around the place and the entertainment on the outdoor stage is amazing. Everyone is happy and pleased to have some gelato, too. It’s a really good time.”
