DSO Opera Gala

Celebrate the beginning of the dry season with an evening of divine and glorious music from the Darwin Symphony Orchestra under the baton of DSO Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Matthew Wood, who returns from his UK season with the Royal Ballet Covent Garden, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Northern College of Music to conduct this special performance.

Joining the DSO are four of Australia’s biggest opera superstars. Cheryl Barker AO is unquestionably one of Australia’s leading operatic sopranos, Victoria Lambourn is a regular mezzo soprano soloist with Opera Australia and has performed in operas and concerts throughout the world, and Henry Choo is one of Australia’s finest coloratura tenors. They will be joined by Teddy Tahu Rhodes, one of the world’s best operatic baritones with an extensive performance career across the globe.

Bring your picnic and join the DSO under the canopy of a twinkling Darwin sky for this evening of operatic highlights culminating in a spectacular fireworks display. This is a not to be missed community event for all of the family. Entry is by gold coin donation to the DSO.

Sat 21 May | 6.30pm | Darwin Waterfront | Gold coin donation | dso.org.au
