The Fast Five – Caiti Baker

Darwin’s genre-bending soulstress Caiti Baker released her debut solo album ZINC to huge acclaim in October.

With producer and Sietta collaborator James Mangohig, she’s bringing the album to the Beachfront Hotel for a huge hometown release party this month. She answered The Fast Five for Off The Leash.

What’s the first album you ever bought?

The Lion King soundtrack! I was obsessed with the movie and all the music. I still know it back to front.

If you could see any artist or band – living or dead – this weekend, who would it be?

Aaliyah.

Whose posters did you have stuck to the wall as a teenager?

Hahaha… Will Smith, JTT, Spice Girls, Missy Elliott, No Doubt and Blackstreet!

What song would you like played at your funeral?

Yikes! I have no idea. But I should probably think about this more now.

Finish this sentence. The thing people would be surprised to know about me… is that I was once the senior graphic designer for Blockbuster Australia and New Zealand, when video shops were still a thing.
