Darwin Festival Opening Extravaganza

DARWIN FESTIVAL IS SET to kick off their 40th birthday celebrations with an epic opening night show, celebrating old and new. Grab the fam and a picnic blanket, and settle in for an evening of good tunes and good vibes.

This year’s Santos Opening Night Concert begins with a Welcome to Country with Larrakia Elder, Ali Mills.

Australia’s most successful Indigenous outfit, Yothu Yindi, will headline the event, bringing their fusion of traditional music and performance with contemporary rock to the main stage.

More than 25 years since they broke through the charts with their iconic song Treaty, the Top End band has seen several generations of musicians come through the ranks, sharing their stories through song in the band.

Local songstress and Darwin fave, Caiti Baker, will also take to the stage with her unique contemporary take on urban inspire indie soul.

Adrian Eagle rounds out the line-up, ready to bring his energy and feel-good anthem A.O.K to the Top End.

Food vendors are on hand to feed hungry punters and you can get yourself hydrated at onsite bars – just remember to bring your dancing shoes. It is a birthday party, after all!
