Brahms' A German Requiem

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN you take a piece of music originally designed for an orchestra of over 200 people and amend it to an chorus of 80? Vocalective, that’s what!

Darwin’s very own choir group is kicking off 2020 with Brahms’ A German Requiem. Music Director Michael Loughlin knew they were up for the challenge.

“Normally we wouldn’t be able to do it, but we have an excellent group of accomplished singers and they’ve all been working really hard to make it work.”

What’s more, they’re bringing together a diverse group of performers from the Top End community.

“We have doctors, ministers of religion, all sorts of people, and yet musically it is well-balanced.”

Throw in a church setting, a fantastic line-up of soloists and 20 talented musicians to back them up and you’ve got the recipe for a fun-filled evening for all.
