The Magic of Dance

With her full-time students and guest artists recently returned from three weeks of international master classes in Prague, Leisa’s School of Dance, in conjunction with Duprada Dance Company, presents two special performances this November.

In Blossom’s Tea Party, the school’s youngest dancers are having a surprise party for Blossom. They’ve invited all their bush friends – the blue birds, green frogs, honeybees, the myrtle and lilly pilly – and be sure to keep an eye out for the mischievous banksia. This matinee performance includes two original works choreographed for and performed by Duprada Dance Company – classical ballet Concerto en Blanc and contemporary piece Transformations.

In the evening, Leisa’s junior school and company tell the story of a princess who is preparing for her upcoming wedding to a sultan in An Arabian Night, while Duprada Dance presents Paquita, a classical ballet with a Spanish flavour. Mystery jazz finale Pink Diamonds will end the night with a sparkle.

Sat 11 Nov | Blossom's Tea Party, 1.30pm | An Arabian Night, 6.30pm | Darwin Entertainment Centre | yourcentre.com.au
