Presented by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, RAW Comedy is the annual hunt for Australia’s as yet undiscovered wit – it’s where the nation’s best and boldest comedy athletes jump in head first and compete for a prized podium position.
After surviving the heats, competitors have just five minutes of original comedy time to win over audiences and judges, and the night’s gold medallist gets the chance to battle it out for the comedy crown at Melbourne’s National Grand Final in April. Umpired by comedian and actor
Susie Youssef, there’ll be perfect 10s, death defying belly flops and some tentative dipping of toes in the water as contestants willing and able make the bravest of comedy leaps.
