The Kazoos Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Kids in katherine will be swept away on a magical floating island with a toothless crocodile, a happy shark and a lovable teddy bear in the musical comedy A Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

The show is the latest musical theatre production from husband and wife team Chris and Celia Hill from Kazoos.

Professor Silly and Tulip need to find Big Bear Brown in time for the Teddy Bear’s Picnic – because what’s a picnic without your favourite teddy bear? Celia Hill, who plays Tulip, says the show was aimed at preschool and early primary aged children and features a host of original songs, dance, adventure and plenty of humour.

She says the Kazoos secret to success with family audiences is that they are quite literally a family act themselves, with Chris’ mother Betty Bobbitt directing the show and testing the material on their own kids.

“We started out in a garage as a songwriting duo with our own kids as our first audience and sternest critics and it’s just grown almost organically since then,” Celia says.

Not only is the show a heap of fun, it’s educational as well. It was developed under the guidance
of early childhood expert Margie Cohan to make sure the little tackers get as much out of it as possible.
