Sanctuary Sessions - July

The picturesque scenery at sanctuary lakes has become the backdrop to the newest free gig in Palmerston.

Sanctuary Sessions is an initiative of the Palmerston Young Producer’s Team, a group of young people aged 13-23, who organise the chilled-out, family friendly events each month.

Palmerston arts and culture officer Leah Sanderson says the last event was a perfect Saturday afternoon.

“It was the easiest way to spend an afternoon for anyone who was there,” she says.

“It was a safe environment for families where kids could run around and roll down the grassy slopes while parents could sit back and have a chat.

“There were groups of teenagers and older people chilling on picnic blankets.”

This month’s gig will feature tunes from local acts Acid City, Serina Pech, Snapchat Regret.
