Tech Zone

If you get excited by gadgets,  gizmos and all things tech, you can get your hands on the latest toys at the City of Darwin Libraries.

Each week, staff at the libraries roll out their tech toys – including virtual reality goggles, a 3D printer and robots – for visitors to play with at their Casuarina and Darwin sites.

Library manager Stacey Rosser says it’s a great chance to learn more about the technology, without having to shell out the big bucks for the latest gadgets.

“It’s a space where we get all of our new tech gadgets and toys out for people to come and play with," she says.

“You might see these things on tele but not have access to them, but now everyone can get their hands on them."

Rosser says it’s a great activity for people of all ages, including the littlest kids and the biggest.

“Everyone is welcome,” she says.

“It certainly appeals to a younger audience but it’s great for teens as well, and it’s really wonderful to see the dads bring their kids along so they can get into it, too.”
