Get That Job! Bike Maintenance 101

Darwin's city streets are no strangers to a few deadly treadlies, but the occasional pothole or simply the rust of the Wet season can spell disaster for your pushy.

This month, bicycle technician Paul Jolidon will share tricks of the trade and give advice to young people aged 14-25 who are interested in getting their hands dirty for a career.

The workshop is part of Launch Darwin’s Get That Job! program, designed to introduce young people to different industries and career possibilities.

So if you like to tinker and are keen on cycling, this workshop is for you.

Jolidon will teach the basics of how bikes work and what can be done to keep them in great shape.

All materials and tools are supplied but participants will need to bring along a bike to work on. Don’t wear your Sunday best, as there’s a good chance you’ll get a bit greasy.

Fri 12 Oct | 10.30am-12.30pm | Casuarina Library | Free | Bookings essential | See the event listing
